This Rath Yatra, Sunfeast 1 YiPPee! Twist during Rath Yatra at Puri

Inspired by Odisha’s Baro Masa Tero Parba, YiPPee! transforms 13 beloved festive dishes into innovative noodle creations

Inspired by Odisha’s cherished philosophy of ‘Baro Masa, Tero Parba’ (12 months, 13 festivals), Sunfeast YiPPee! celebrated the state’s vibrant festivals and rich culinary heritage through 13 festival-inspired noodle creations. Each recipe drew inspiration from a signature festive dish or key ingredient associated with one of Odisha’s monthly celebrations and reimagined it with a distinctive YiPPee! twist. Whether by replacing a key ingredient with YiPPee! noodles, using them as a stuffing, or seamlessly blending them into traditional preparations, every recipe retained the authentic regional flavours while showcasing the incredible versatility of YiPPee! noodles. The initiative offered consumers a fresh and innovative way to experience familiar festive favourites while celebrating Odisha’s rich food traditions.

  1. YiPPee! Posto (Pana Sankranti): Inspired by the traditional Potala Posta, this festive favourite was transformed into a creamy Posto-inspired noodle fusion by replacing pointed gourd with YiPPee! noodles. The noodles were cooked in a rich poppy seed (posto) gravy, allowing them to absorb the authentic flavours of the traditional preparation.
  2. YiPPee! Luna Poda Pitha (Raja Parba)Drawing inspiration from Raja Parba’s beloved Luni Poda Pitha, this creation reimagined the traditional delicacy by blending YiPPee! noodles with vegetables and spices, shaping them into a pitha-style preparation while retaining the essence of the festive favourite.
  3. YiPPee! Dalma (Rath Yatra): Inspired by Odisha’s iconic Dalma, this recipe replaced the traditional dal with YiPPee! noodles. The noodles were added to the authentic vegetable and Dalma masala preparation, allowing them to soak in the signature flavours while creating a unique Rath Yatra-inspired fusion.
  4. YiPPee! Dahi Bara Aloo Dum (Gamha Purnima)The much-loved Dahi Bara Aloo Dum received a contemporary twist by preparing the bara using a blend of YiPPee! noodles and rice. The crispy noodle bara was soaked in curd and served alongside traditional Aloo Dum, creating a delightful fusion of textures and flavours.
  5. YiPPee! Saga Bhaja (Nuakhai): Inspired by the traditional Nuakhai preparation, YiPPee! noodles were combined with the classic Saga Bhaja, allowing the noodles to absorb the flavours of the seasoned leafy greens while celebrating the harvest festival with a contemporary touch.
  6. YiPPee! Khichdi (Durga Puja): This festive classic was recreated by reducing the quantity of rice and dal and incorporating YiPPee! noodles during the final stage of cooking. The noodles blended seamlessly with the traditional preparation, offering a modern take on an enduring favourite.
  7. YiPPee! Chaula Bara (Kumar Purnima): Inspired by the traditional Chaula Bara, YiPPee! noodles were mixed with vegetables and spices, shaped into crispy bara balls, and deep-fried to create a delicious new interpretation of the regional favourite.
  8. YiPPee! Thunka Puri (Bali Jatra): This popular Odia delicacy was reimagined by stuffing traditional Thunka Puri with flavourful YiPPee! noodles before frying it until crisp and golden, creating a unique stuffed fusion best enjoyed with Chhena Tarkari.
  9. YiPPee! Enduri Pitha (Prathamastami): A cherished festive delicacy received an innovative makeover by replacing the traditional stuffing with flavourful YiPPee! noodles. The pitha was then steamed using the traditional Haldi Patra method, preserving its authentic character while introducing a delightful noodle twist.
  10. YiPPee! Chuda with Aashirvaad Soya (Data Osha): Inspired by the traditional festive preparation, this creation combined familiar regional flavours with the versatility of YiPPee! noodles and Aashirvaad Soya, offering a wholesome reinterpretation of the classic dish.
  11. YiPPee! Pakhala Bhata (Ispade Mela): Rather than altering the iconic Pakhala Bhata itself, YiPPee! created a flavourful noodle Choka as a complementary side dish, bringing together traditional cooling flavours with an innovative noodle accompaniment.
  12. YiPPee! Ghanta Tarkari (Dola Purnima): Inspired by the traditional mixed vegetable preparation, this fusion featured a thicker, less-gravy version of Ghanta Tarkari generously combined with YiPPee! noodles, allowing the noodles to absorb the rich festive flavours.
  13. YiPPee! Muga Dali Khichdi (Ram Navami): This regional favourite was reinvented by reducing the quantity of rice and adding YiPPee! noodles during the final stage of cooking. The noodles blended beautifully with the moong dal preparation, resulting in an innovative yet familiar festive dish.

Together, these 13 festival-inspired creations showcased how YiPPee! noodles could be seamlessly integrated into Odisha’s most iconic festive recipes while remaining rooted in local traditions. As part of ‘Baro Masa, YiPPee! Parba’, the initiative beautifully brought together food, culture, innovation, and storytelling, celebrating the flavours and festivities that make every month in Odisha unique.
