Reema Nanavaty has been working with SEWA now for 35 years to work for the underprivileged. Nanavaty, who received the Padma Shri in 2013, is credited with building well-known SEWA brands such as the handicraft-based fashion and home décor label Hansiba and RUDI traditional foods. Under her leadership, SEWA Trade Facilitation Centre (STFC) has grown as a business organization exclusively owned and managed by women artisans.
Chef Aman Tandon hails from Kanpur and Lucknow, where he had the opportunity to enjoy the traditional food of Awadh. Over more than two decades he had worked as a chef with brands like Taj, Sheraton, Radisson, Pride and Intercontinental. Currently, he is the Executive Chef at Crowne Plaza – Ahmedabad City Centre.
Rushad Ginwala is a hospitality professional qualified from the prestigious IHM Mumbai. He worked in hotels and restaurants before launching Mirch Masala in 1992 and Tomatos in 1994-5. His company Ahura Restaurants P Ltd runs multiple restaurants under brands like Dhoom Dhaam, Tomatos and Mirch Masala. They also undertake on- site catering and banqueting, and manage restaurants and food service at prestigious clubs. He was awarded Restaurateur of the Year by Times Food Awards.
Sanjali Nirwani studied at IESE business school in Barcelona. She worked at Philips in Amsterdam and Bain and company in Gurgaon before founding Unlocked Cafe in Ahmedabad and then her second cafe at Delhi -NCR. Interview by Ankita Sharma @teekhidalmakhni
